Building community with Turtle Island Skateboard Project

Due to the impact of Covid-19 and a climate crisis that has already drastically impacted so many of our Indigenous communities, youth and teens are struggling more than ever with their mental health. Turtle Island Skateboard Project is rooted in whole wellness and was created because skateboarding is an accessible activity for just about everyone. They remind youth and teens to reclaim public spaces and just feel good on a day to day basis. It’s been an honor to work closely with this young and motivated team, building a unique identity based on reclaimed symbols and ideas from indigenous ancestry.
